🙋 FAQ
Is SoundBoardio free?
Yes, completely. You can browse, play and install any soundboard, and create your own, at no cost.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There is no registration and no account. Just open a soundboard and start playing, or install it to your device.
Can I install a soundboard as an app?
Yes. Every soundboard is a Progressive Web App. Open it in Chrome or Safari on your phone and tap Install — it then behaves like a native app and works offline.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once a soundboard is installed on your device, it keeps working without an internet connection.
Do I have to put all my mp3 files into GitHub?
No, that is optional. You can host your mp3 files on your own HTTPS server and keep only the soundboardio.json manifest in your GitHub repository. In that case the file paths in the manifest must be absolute URLs. See the soundboardio/soundboardio-jirikara repository for an example.
Who owns the sounds and how do I report inappropriate content?
Each soundboard is maintained by its author in their own GitHub repository; SoundBoardio only lists them. If something is inappropriate or infringing, contact us on Discord or GitHub and we will remove it from the list.
